Who we are

Motor City Organics operates this site. By using this site or signing in, you agree to these terms. If you don't, please don't use the site.

Accounts

You can sign in with Apple or Google. You are responsible for keeping access to your sign-in provider secure. We will never ask you for a password. If you lose access to your provider, contact us and we will help you recover or transfer your account data.

Orders and shipping

  • Prices and stock can change.
  • The price in your cart at checkout is what you pay.
  • We ship within the United States.
  • Most orders go out in 1 to 3 business days.
  • Once the carrier marks an order delivered, it's on you to find it.

Returns

Sealed product can be returned within 30 days for a full refund. Opened product less than a quarter used can be returned within 30 days for a full refund. Past the quarter line, the refund is MCO Credit. Email us before shipping anything back.

MCO Credit

MCO Credit is store credit that you can apply against a future order on this site. It is not cash, has no monetary value off this site, and cannot be redeemed for money. Apply it from the cart with the MCO Credit toggle at checkout, up to your available balance.

  • Order minimums. Promotional credit (welcome, quiz, review, Atlas and referral rewards) applies on orders with a subtotal of $20 or more. Credit won at the welcome table applies on orders of $100 or more. Credit you paid for, such as a gift, has no minimum.
  • Non-transferable. Credit belongs to the account that earned it. You cannot transfer it to another customer or another account.
  • One account, one balance. We may suspend accounts that try to inflate MCO Credit by creating multiple accounts or by automating actions.
  • Expiration. Credit may expire 12 months after your last completed purchase. We will email you before any expiration so you can use it.
  • Account closure. If your account is closed for any reason, any remaining MCO Credit is void and cannot be refunded as cash.
  • Refunds. If you return a purchase that was paid for in part with MCO Credit, the credit portion is returned to your MCO Credit balance, not refunded to your card.

The Scent Atlas reward program

Your Scent Atlas is a shelf of all 10 MCO scents. Each tile carries a $3 MCO Credit reward, with a $25 bonus for completing all 10 tiles. Total: up to $55 in MCO Credit.

  • How a tile qualifies. A tile becomes qualified when you spend enough time on that scent's product page (we call this dwell time), or when you complete a qualifying purchase of any product in that scent.
  • Qualifying purchase. Any paid order that includes a product in that scent counts. The order must be completed and not refunded.
  • No purchase obligation. You can start your Scent Atlas without buying anything, by reading the product pages. Dwell-qualified tiles still earn the $3 credit.
  • Refunds. If you refund the order that qualified a tile, the tile reverts to qualified-by-dwell or locked, and the related $3 credit is removed from your balance.
  • Program changes. We may change the credit amount, the qualifying rules, or end the program. Credit you have already earned stays yours, subject to the MCO Credit section above.

Subscribe and Save

You can subscribe to any product to ship on a regular cadence. The default cadence depends on the format: body wash every 4 weeks, lotion every 6 weeks, bar soap 2-pack every 7 weeks, scrub every 8 weeks. You can change the cadence on each subscription from your account.

  • Discount. Subscribe and Save takes 15 percent off the subscription line item.
  • Pause or cancel anytime. Manage from your account. There is no minimum number of shipments and no cancellation fee.
  • Stacking. Subscribe and Save stacks with the build-your-own bundle 10 percent discount. No individual line item is ever sold below 50 percent of its list price after all stacked discounts apply.
  • Price changes. We will notify you by email before any price change takes effect on an active subscription.
  • Skipped shipments. If a payment fails, we will retry once and then pause the subscription until you update the payment method.

The welcome table

  • What it is. New customers can play a hand of blackjack against the house on this site. The house stakes $5 in MCO Credit, each winning hand adds $5 to the table, and you can cash out any time for the balance, up to $20. The credit is promotional MCO Credit and is subject to the MCO Credit section above.
  • Claiming. The credit lands on your account when you sign in with the email you played with. One welcome table per customer, per email address.
  • Minimum order. Welcome table credit applies on a first order with a subtotal of $100 or more, before shipping and tax.
  • Double down. If you double down and win, a free bar soap 2-pack (Goat Milk Oasis or Turmeric Citrus Grove, your pick) ships with that first $100+ order, while stock lasts. One per customer. It has no cash value and is not sold separately as part of the offer.
  • Free shipping. Shipping is free on orders over $35, so a qualifying first order ships free.
  • No cash value. Table credit cannot be redeemed for money and is void if the account is closed. We may suspend accounts that play the table with multiple email addresses or by automated means.
  • Program changes. We may change the stake, the cap, the qualifying rules, or end the table. Credit you have already cashed out stays yours, subject to the MCO Credit section above.

RELAUNCH40 promo (ended)

  • The RELAUNCH40 welcome offer (40 percent off a first order of $75 or more) ran from May 22, 2026 to September 14, 2026 and has ended. It no longer applies at checkout. Orders placed with it before that date are unaffected. The welcome table above is the current welcome offer.

Acceptable use

Use the site for personal shopping. Do not scrape, attack, or circumvent our authentication. Do not attempt to inflate MCO Credit by creating multiple accounts or by automating actions. We may suspend accounts that do.

Content and trademarks

"Motor City Organics" and the tree logo are our trademarks. Product photography, copy, and design are our intellectual property. You may share links to product pages. You may not reproduce our copy or imagery for commercial purposes without written permission.

No medical claims

Our products are personal-care soap, lotion, and wash. They are not drugs and are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any condition. If you have sensitive skin, patch-test first.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability arising from your use of the site or our products is limited to the amount you paid us in the prior twelve months. We are not liable for indirect or consequential damages.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Michigan, without regard to its conflict of laws rules. Disputes are resolved in the state or federal courts of Oakland County, Michigan.

Changes

If we change these terms materially, we will post the new version here and update the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the site after that date constitutes acceptance.
